a lady of pleasure. |
Christina Lindberg knew who she was becoming in the early 70's: a sex icon, and sex icons can even sell the crappiest crap. All the films we've been reviewing lately respond to her condition of "sex icon". To paraphrase her, "she was hired to do small cameos in several films just to make sure they would sell enough tickets"
Anyways, as we've been stating in previous entries, 2016 marks the return of the great Christina Lindberg to the big screen and as soon as Cry For Revenge premieres an in depth review will be here will everything you need to know. However, in the meantime, we'll check the most obscure films were our dear Swedish goddess got a part (no matter how small)
Christina Lindberg as herself. |
The nude photography business was blooming in the 70's. |
Around the World with Fanny Hill is a 1974 Swedish/German film directed by Mac Ahlberg and starred by blonde bombshell Shirley Corrigan (as Fanny Hill), Peter Bonke (as Roger Boman, her husband) & Gaby Fuchs (Monica) Christina Lindberg's character doesn't even have a name! she's credited only as "meatball model" and her cameo is very brief. Nevertheless, what makes her participation interesting is the fact that she is pretty much portraying herself in the film, you know, a nude model who promotes all sorts of products. Another interesting fact we have to mention is that during 1974 Lindberg starred her most beloved film of all times: Thriller, a Cruel Picture.
Around the World with Fanny Hill, is supposed to be the sequel for the 1968 Fanny Hill movie which was also directed by Mac Ahlberg. Fanny Hill (the novel) is a 1748 erotic novel written by John Cleland and it has got several film adaptations as well as TV movies, audio novels and other inspired by works.
The 70's update of Fanny Hill. |
Cock craving around the world. |
The film is about Fanny Hill's marriage, that certainly has seen better days, and our blonde starlet strongly suspects that her
husband is cheating on her. When she decides that she wants to split up
with him, she convinces her good friend to seduce her husband so she
can catch him in the act. In return her friend would get to come along
on a trip to the USA. But as the friend is seducing him, they find another
girl in the closet. All is well and they leave for America where they try to
get in contact with famous people, and soon enough Fanny Hill is a big
name in the movie business.
I must say, I
really liked this little film. I was pretty sure I'd get another boring
softcore that attempted to be a real film when all it had going was
smut. "Around the World with Fanny Hill" is one hell of a fun movie.
Sure, the comedy is of a very familiar kind, but it's sure to bring many
good laughs and would be a great little film for couples to watch I
believe.
Brunettes are a thing of the past my dear. |
Buy under the promise of sex. |
Once Fanny Hill and her friend go to America all they want to do is to party with celebrities. As soon as they arrive in L.A., they then meet a TV
celebrity that Fanny then follows home for casual sex. The only
problem is that he's not interested at all in her. Instead, the next
morning when his friend gets there, he sees Fanny naked and has a
perfect role for her (as usual, since that seems to be how they actually
got roles back then). Yadda yadda, and she's famous. Her husband (ex)
sees her in a magazine and decides to go there and track her down. The
story continues in the same vein when she goes to Hong Kong and so on.
But it really is a funny movie that uses the classic mix-up scenarios,
and it works well.
The film is filled with lovely actresses. Of course, Shirley
Corrigan is great as Fanny Hill and looks fantastic. We have a small
role for Marie Ekorre and Christina Lindberg as well. And Gaby Fuchs
looks great as well (the friend). It's filled with girlies, that's for
sure. But don't expect a bunch of filthy sex, most sex scenes are mostly
entertaining and mildly sexy rather than pornographic or smutty.
Although there is a pretty graphic orgy towards the end.
Surprise! let's fuck! |
I can't take any more anal for today, sorry. |
There could be some points to bring up - is Fanny Hill a
spoiled brat? Does she take advantage of her friend seeing how Fanny is
the only one who gets to have any fun in the movie? Why are they all
speaking English if the movie is about a Swedish woman (and the movie
starts in Stockholm)? Yeah, it's not a movie to get invested in to that
extent. Watch it for what it is - an innocent nudie comedy. That's all
there is to it, and I can't be more happy about it. Maybe now I'll
finally take the thumb out of my ass and check out the original "Fanny
Hill", and hopefully it will be as much fun. Although, without Shirley
as Fanny I'm not sure I will enjoy it as much as this 70's themed sequel.
