The time has come to finish the reviews on the six film cult saga of Danish Zodiac exploitation, and we finish the ride reviewing part I, the one that started it all, the firestarter, the alpha of one of the most interesting comedies of all times in the exploitation universe: In the Sign of the Virgin.

In the Sign of the Virgin tells quite an original story where planet Venus is supposed to align with planet earth, and that would cause virgins from a boarding school to go crazy and turn into sex addict monsters.

The movie wastes no time and after the opening credits we get dyke action!

In the Sign of the Virgin was written and directed by Finn Karlsson, the guy who started it all on the Zodiac franchise. The plot for In the Sign of the Virgin revolves around a boarding school for girls that are not as innocent as they appear. A distinguished professor is sent in to observed these young ladies and make sure when the planet Venus has aligned that all hell doesn’t break loose. After trying for a few days to add a new review, I sort of gave up, the Blogger posting service was unavailable for some time. Now that the issue is solved I can happily announce the review for In the Sign of the Gemini, part II on the six film saga of vintage Danish exploitation.

As you already know, most of these saga movies only share a few things in common, such as som actors and a couple of stories (Agent Jensen 69 In the Sign of the Scorpio & Agent Jensen 69 In the Sign of the Sagittarius) are connected but, the thing they all share is real sex, hardcore sex, porn.

Part II was released in 1975, and just like four of the six films in the saga, it was also written and directed by Werner Hedman, the man who gave this series the necessary elements to make the perfect blending work. 

Unfortunately this film is no longer available on DVD (unless if you look for it on a used stuff store) but, that's why the huge movie freaks internet community becomes so important keeping the legacy for the connoisseurs and the newcomers.

Anthon Master is a player who is always surrounded by ladies, while Ulrik Ulvenstein is a crotchety old man. Dolores Rossi is the singer they both feverishly try to woo into their respective record companies. Dolores, despite being blonde,  is not as dumb as she appears as she plays her two suitors like a fiddle. The plot really gets cooking when Ulrik Ulvenstein hires men to kidnap Anthon Master. His plan would have been fool proof if it wasn’t for Anthon having a twin brother who steps in and assumes his identity. Visually some stands out moments include one of the kidnappers in drag leering at naked women at a health spa exorcising and a scene with semi nude ball room dancing. Once again all the hardcore scenes are well done.

In the Sign of the Gemini has some very good acting, in fact the whole cast does a pretty good job. The most surprising performance comes from Ole Søltoft playing the twins Anthon Master and Benny Master. Some of the familiar faces in the cast include Anne Bie Warburg, Lisbeth Olsen and Poul Bundgaard. Another performance of note is Cia Löwgren in the role of Dolores Rossi, the object which two men desire.

Continuing with the horny zodiac Danish movie series it's time to go back to part III: In the Sign of the Taurus. 

The story of the third instalment of the six film series take sus back to the crazy 20's and presents us a small town with the utmost moral standards that is forced to explore their more sinful sides. When the wealthiest man in town stipulates in his will that the only way the town will inherit his fortune is if a child is born out of wedlock in the sign of Taurus (yeah, that's why the film is called this way).

In the Sign of the Taurus was written and directed by Werner Hedman, a man who would direct four of the six Zodiac films now thought to be absolute Danish exploitation masterpieces, or merely 70's porn with a decent budget.

These were the hottest trends in the 20's.

In the Sign of the Taurus is a story about an uptight town who for years have been benefiting from the generosity of a perverted millionaire. They are forced to go against their beliefs when the millionaire dies from a heart attack. In his will he gives the town nine months and fourteen days to produce a child out of wedlock or they will lose his vast fortune, which will end up on a charity for abandoned cats (WTF). In a panic the town acquires the services of a locale prostitute to help them achieve their goals.

Continuing with the astrology erotic series established by the Danish film makers in the 70's I will review the story that is considered by many as the most complete in terms of film making and story telling.

'The Leo sign' version deals with a plot whereby erotic diaries, just being published create turbulent situations among the persons involved. This all with flashbacks in a beauty full historian decor, shot with professional Danish actors and a professional director. This movie combines humor and slapstick. The difference with other movies is that it actually shows the spicy details. These hard core scenes are very well integrated in the story and become a natural part of it almost in an innocent way, besides having the two main character as retired ladies adds the story a touch of a more serious approach, something the rest of the movies from the series didn't have, despite the fact In the Sign of the Lion was directed by Werner Hedman who also directed In the Sign of the Gemini, Agent 69 Jensen In the Sign of the Scorpio and Agent 69 Jensen In the Sign of the Sagittarius.

The story is quite simple but, interesting. Two old retire ladies are sick of writing unsuccessful novels that are constantly being criticised, so in many of their tea afternoons they come up with an idea that would twist their fate: Writing their very personal younghood sexual escapades. Using that as the main plot in the movie, we are given a little insight on these two inseparable not so innocent old ladies.

Is through flashbacks that we literally "live" their sexual escapades, asuming that those adventures are the ones being written on their erotic stories that are taken from their own personal diaries. Their memories take us back to the times when they were both young enough and grown enough as to have some good old sex. So, in order to keep their names protected, and to avoid a crazy count they used to work to find the truth in the book, They convince their nephew to assume as the book’s author. No matter how full proof a brilliant plan like the one they concocted sounds, there is always something that goes wrong. Visually some stands out moments include a flashback sequence involving glory holes(!) and another flashback scene where a jealous husband is fooled when he tries to identify his wife via her pubic hair (which has been dyed to hide her identity). The bulk of the sex scenes and naughty bits occur during the films flashbacks. The scenes are all extremely well executed and in a way, inventive.

The acting in the film is quite good. This film features another superb performance from Ole Søltoft in the role of Toni Bram, the nephew of the two ladies who "really" wrote the book he has been credited as the author of.
