Exploitative movie poster. |
Today we set our minds in quite a dark release, dark because it’s been
quite impossible to get a copy of it, whether if it is the original VHS or some
fan made transfer to a digital format.
Thank God we got Millcreek Entertainment to bring back all those public
domain films that were buried six feet under for ages, unfortunately some of
them were buried for good reasons but, Millcreek has a taste for profanity and
they’re willing to spill your guts with the DVD release for today’s review: Noon Sunday.
Noon Sunday, filmed in 1975 was the very first feature film made on the
island of Guam, this is an explosive, suspense-filled story about a couple of
mercenaries assigned to assassinate two guerrilla leaders on the island. The
mercenaries find themselves caught in the middle when both sides of the
conflict decide to target them for murder…

Linda Avery, the exploitation factor. |

Linda Avery. |
That's what this is, the acting for the most part is as you might guess:
quite poor, though the scenery is lovely. There's plenty of shoot-em-up action
and the plot is alright.
It's not really a stand out film though; it has some quite dark moments
including some kids getting shot.
The legend has it that there was
a pre-1984 rental video which only came in at a little over 80 minutes long,
apparently some of the extremely violent material was for censorship reasons,
AKA distribution overseas. Millcreek Entertainment re-released the film in its
entirety (1 hour, 44 minutes) so, we
do get to see all the previously censored material which to be honest,
according to today’s standards it is nothing that would rock your socks off.

a Legendary picture for a failed movie. |

Our man. |

"Nice timing, I did last a couple of extra minutes this time" |
|
"I won't fuck you because you think you look manly with a gun" |
|
"Alright, let's fuck and some sense to the film" |

The designer of the original VHS cover should rot in hell. |

Some gore! |
The movie comes as a part of the 12 movie pack known as Dangerous Babes, a collection of movies
with plenty of babes on it, hence the name of the pack.
I never use numbers to rate films but, I give the film a 3 out of 10.
The movie doesn’t deliver, and doesn’t exploit enough the beauty of Linda Avery.
Since this movie is so obscure I had quite a hard time looking for online videos with no success, so I'm sorry my fellow readers.
Next time, a less obscure film!
