Journey To Japan

Oh Christina!
...My continuing quest to see every film that Sweden's stunningly beautiful Christina Lindberg ever made has brought me here to this extremely rare film. Finding the official DVD was a pain in the ass as it has long gone into the out of print oblivion prison. Also, it can be very difficult to find the edition which features english subtitles. Anyways, I got the flick and now it's time to review it as good ol' Christina deserves.

First of all, this flick was 100% made in Japan, hence its original japanese title Poruno no joô: Nippon sex ryokô. Fortunately for us, the film is also known as Sexrejsen Til Japan, Journey to Japan & The Pornstar Travels Around Japan (!). The film is poorly directed by Sadao Nakajima, and as always starred by the greatest exploitation starlet of them all: Christina Lindberg.

"Japan seems to be a safe place for bombshells like me"
Will that man behind me give me what I want?

The plot: Christina, on arriving in Japan, acquaints a Japanese man at the airport who looks like a sap. He takes her to his apartment where he brutally rapes her and keeps her hostage and bound in chains (yes, you read that). Christina's alluring beauty eventually enchants the rapist and he is soon consulting his 'How to Stimulate a Woman' sex book in an effort to please her... Of course, our girl exploits this weakness and manages to escape. She then finds her way to a nightclub and to cut a long story short is ganged-banged by some odd-looking character, which makes you think what in the world was she thinking when she escaped from the rapist's place. I mean, wouldn't you want to go to the police? Especially when you speak perfect japanese? Anyways,  Christina is not having a lot of luck, poor girl! The Japanese man (who seems to have fallen in love with her), finds her walking the streets barefooted and in a terrible state. So he takes her back to his place and tries his best to bring her out of her depressive state of mind but with no avail. He eventually orders her to go but it seems Christina has developed a 'Stockholm Syndrome' and refuses to leave. They then live together quite happily (a girl with her rapist, sure!) until some gangsters arrive to shatter their domestic bliss because Ingrid was somehow escaping from a drug dealing business which is not explained in later scenes.

Bondage gets me so wet!
Please release my mouth so I can swallow your jap load!
C'mon fuck me soon!
I love cock, this really isn't necessary.

Now, seriously, who cares about the ridiculous plot as most will only be watching this film to see Christina in action? I would answer "not me" but despite some soft-core sex scenes I was not actually thrilled by the plot. Christina's character Ingrid, travels to Japan escaping from Sweden from apparently unknown reasons and as soon as she lands in japanese ground she doesn't follow the rules of waiting for her car to arrive and instead goes carelessly with some random freak, I mean c'mon Mr. film maker we're not that stupid! How can we be lead to believe that a stunning girl would eventually fall in love with her rapist? what the fuck is wrong with you you perverted japanese! The whole film is a disaster from start to end. No one would buy that sexist perv story of a girl who would eventually fall in love with a rapist, that is just fucking sick in the head! And once she manages to escape she meets this random people who would rape her too!! Not to mention that at the very end she feels sorry about his rapist and does not want to leave him alone (!) Holy fuck! the plot sucks now as much as it did in the 70's! No wonder why she would retire from the sexploitation industry a few years later.

The bottom line: For die-hard Christina Lindberg fans. For anyone else? you can skip it and you won't be missing much. You know I'm no "Mr. morality" but watching a film in which the story leads you to believe a girl can fall in love with a rapist is probably one of the sickest ideas ever filmed. Not even Russ Meyer could have came up with such a sick plot. However, the the sex scenes are quite soft-core and won't scare you away. The plot most certainly will.
