Pets attack! |
Before I watched "They Saved Hitler's Brain" I revisited this horror classic from 1989, based on another Stephen King's best seller.
So, let's begin our written review. The story starts where the Creed family, tired from living an urban life in Chicago, decide to go to the countryside to find a place where the kids could grow without the stress from the windy city. They get to a beatiful house which hides a nearby secret. When doctor Creed befriends his neighbour he finds about a secret pet cemetery which just happens to be down his house. There, in the cemetery, the oldman tells the newcomers that a pet cemetery was established long ago due to the high rates of pet deaths crossing the truck crowded countryside road. Many kids lowered their grief by taking their unfortunate pets to this "Sematary"
After the unfortunate death of Mr. Creed daughter's cat is where the movie plot starts to develop. Doctor Creed and his neighbour take the dead cat to an ancient indian burial ground on top of the mountains. Next morning and voila! the cat is back! but with a new violent added behaviour.
mr Creed starts to experience the horror of having a dead cat back until his family returns home. On a sunny day picnic Mr. Creed's little boy crosses the road following his lost kite and pum!!! suddenly a truck finishes his life starting the real horror of the movie. Mr Creed alone once more, decides to go to the indian burial ground to bring his little son back from death, but not without his neighbour warning about what happened years ago when someone did the same thing with his dead son. Pain, violence and rage were the setting and nothing good came out of it, that's why the movie line is "Sometines dead is better"
Not listening to the violent story from the past Mr Creed, takes his son corpse to the indian burial ground, and boy he's gonna regret it! cause death it's about to become the main character of the movie.
This movie is a must, really good, pretty much following the exact same storyline from the 1984's bestselling book, and you gotta thank that to mr Stephen King itself for he was in charge of the movie's storyline and also had a small cameo as a minister on a funeral scene.
Go watch it now!
