Speaking of knock offs.

It is no secret that the birth of the exploitation genre was the intention of getting the success of major releases, the so called blockbuster movies, so thousands of films were made from the 60’s to the late 80’s following that pattern but, there were others that went beyond “basing their stories upon a film” they were literally knock off flicks, and today’s entry is about the porn parody of Tim Burton’s 1992 yours truly favorite Batman Returns. Released around the same time but, with a different name to avoid being Literal Splatman (a reference to a cumshot) had its characters Splatgirl, Scatwoman and the Pornguin, all living their adventures under Glosen city.

I had no idea about this movie until I visited El Bizarro Mundo Nihilista’s blog, a blog you should all follow if you’re ok with Spanish. After downlo… erp! Sorry after making myself with a copy of this flick I did some research to find out more about this hilarious parody. The movie is now out of print since Warner Bros. sued the company who produced this due to some copyright violations. (I've read they used sounds from "Batman Returns" in the movie and Cal Jammer was wearing a commercially available Batman suit on the cover) Then, the movie was recalled and destroyed. But I’m sure there are still some copies around on the world wide web.

Basically this is a porn spoof of "Batman Returns." The unique thing about this porno is that the performers actually act well and make the comedy of it all worth a watch. Cal Jammer plays Bruce Stain/Splatman very serious, just like the actual character. Madison does Catwoman as psychotic and aggressive. But the BEST performance is by Tony Tedischi who plays the Pornguin. This guy steals the show and also participated in a couple good sex scenes including a 6-some with the 2 women, one of them Ona Z, getting DP'ed by 4 guys. This movie spawns a number of one liners, who could forget the Mayor's assertion of "Poppycock!" when callers phone in crime reports? This is one flick you'll have to track down and see if you like porn, super hero's, and parodies.

Overall this movie has its cult value because of the strangely good acting (hey, it's a porn movie) every actor and/or actress plays his/her part as if it really was the Batman, Catwoman or The Penguin. The setting is quite simple, mostly indoor action emulating a dark city as the original Gotham City was. The porn scenes are probably the least interesting, they basically follow the same pattern porn scenes have followed since the 70's so, you won't find new stuff there but that's why the main thing here is that they did manage to deliver a decent spoof of a true classic as Batman Returns is.
